Kinetic Methods
The Hand Drill

Friction based fire-starting has been around for quite some time. These methods can come in handy when you have only raw materials at your disposal , and the patience to do it effectively.
You need a thick piece of flat wood to use as
a baseboard. Create a few notches as big
as the end of your stick

Squeeze the stick into the notch.
Put your tinder next to the notch.
Using your hands and a lot of downward force, spin the stick back and forth in the notch.
Sparks should start to appear, and these sparks will light your tinder.
Blow on the tinder to get the sparks to form a flame.
You can modify this technique with
a tool that resembles a mini archer's bow.
using notches, or the cutout you see in the baseboard below.

The Plough

Like the last method, this one is accomplished by forgetting about notches in your baseboard... All you need is
a groove going down the length of the board,
a dull stick
tinder at the top of the board.
You're going to rub the dull stick back and forth with force to create
friction-based embers, that will then, ignite your tinder
Solar Methods
The Sandwich Bag Laser
This method is effective in sunny environments, during the day. It works by putting water in a sandwich back and squeezing it to form a sphere or bubble of water that acts as a magnifying glass. Then you position the bubble so there is a beam of sunlight hitting it, place your baseboard and tinder so the light is going through the sphere and shining on the tinder.
In due time you'll have yourself a fire. Don't believe me? Watch this video....
Pro Tip: Extra Resourceful!
"If you wear glasses you have another tool at your disposal... The idea of magnifying sunlight light also works with a FARSIGHTED glasses lens, or a reading lens... You know, one that has strong magnification. You can even add a drop of water on the lens to help out."
Check out this video explaining how to do it!
